The Alberta Law Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2015 Annual Report is now available.  In the 2014-15 fiscal year, 78 grants totaling $17.8 million were allocated to 52 organizations across the province, in addition to $6 million allocated to Legal Aid.  Throughout the year, over 80,000 clients received legal advice, representation or direct legal services and over 96,000 clients participated in more than 4,000 public legal education sessions delivered by grantee organizations.

For over 40 years, the Alberta Law Foundation has been the recipient of interest which banks, credit unions, trust companies, and treasury branches pay on clients' funds held in lawyers' pooled trust accounts.  In 2014-15, this income totaled $19.2 million, in addition to $5 million in investment income and $180,000 in undisbursable trust balances from the Law Society of Alberta.  These funds are made available to organizations which provide services in keeping with the Foundation’s objects of legal research, law libraries, public legal education, and direct legal services to vulnerable populations.
