We are very excited to introduce the Foundation’s first ever Director, Strategic Operations! Please join us in welcoming Sara Winger to our team.
Sara is joining us from her most recent role at the City of Calgary where she provided strategic advice to senior leadership on how to address complex issues, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitating strategic sessions to identify options and opportunities to address major organizational challenges. She is also a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary in Political Science.
Sara recently convocated from the University of Calgary after completing her Doctor of Philosophy: Political Science with a dissertation on: The Ontology of Violence: United Nations Peacekeeping Response to Mass Atrocity Violence in Sudan and South Sudan. This ties into her background in peace and justice as Sara has also worked with the Calgary Police Service, spent three years working and living in Sudan and South Sudan, and served as a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Sara is also a dedicated mother of two young boys and a dog named Stella.
We are excited to introduce Sara to our wonderful community in the near future.
